We had a great time today - great weather again. I think I could get use to warm weather and sunny skies while at home it is cold and rainy - or even sleet.

The activity was a trip to the Naval Air Museum on the Pensacola Navy Air Station. We got on the base and were surprised and pleased to find that the Pensacola Lighthouse was also on the base grounds. So that was the first stop of the day.

Here are Faye on the left and Justine on the right. We watched the Pats game last night and I found out that both of them dig off the their nail polish when things are a little stressful - a modern day version of nail biting.  In the photo they are both showing off there new nail polish applications.

And we all climbed the 177 steps to the top of the lighthouse. It is a beautiful walk to the top.

As you can see it is a wonderful view of the coast

It is great to see the lenses of the light as it is a working light. The lenses is turning and the light is fixed in the middle.

Here we all are with the coast of Florida and the Gulf of Mexican in the background.

We did enjoy the naval air museum.
This is the first naval airplane - and we say a lot more older and modern planes.

This statue representing the transition of pilots through the beginning to now was most interesting and skillfully done.

Apparently this Japanese Zero is one of only about 16 left - which seems very amazing.

There is a famous seafood market in Pensacola - Joe Patti's

It was an amazing place with a monstrous variety of fish and seafood.

The next block over was Joe Patti's restaurant - it was needed as it was late in the day and it was good.

We all went back to our boat to watch some more football. So time to say ....................

Good Night and May God Bless

Today was one of the days you dream about when you think of doing the Great Loop.  Blue sky, warm temperature, mild breeze, and ..... the Blue Angels. Well maybe the Blue Angels was an added bonus to the dream - but we had it today!!

Yesterday we found out that the Knights Kingdom crew was going to be at our marina. They have to go home for a friend's funeral and ended up that Pensacola was going to be the best place to be for transportation account of the the damage from Hurricane Michael.  Was good to see them again. We planned to stay here through Thursday to wait out a coming storm.

But today was glorious and a beach day!! Jim and Justine with Rocky the dog, came with us on our boat to and outer bank beach area. As you can see it is a beautiful place to see the beauty of the dunes. It was located at the mouth of the Pensacola Passage to the Gulf.

Here is the approach to the anchorage.

And a view from the forme WWII fort on the the island.

And the babes taking in the sun

Looking out to the Gulf

We stayed until the Blue Angels show.

 S
o Good Night and May God bless - so time to go.

We Made It to Florida!!! I know that it was the same temperature in Alabama - but it feels warmer. Must be all the perceptions that change the  perspective.

Here we are leaving the marina channel.

 Sunrise breaks

And we have a convoy.

We saw dolphins for the first time - try to get a picture - it's tough. I will get one soon for you. But it was amazing to see them.

Here we are approaching the Gulf Coast Intercoastal

And we are in it. Reminded me of the Trent Severn waterway with Tiki Huts

This is the famous LULUs resturant. She is the sister of Jimmy Buffet.

After a while the canal opens into bays.

And right after the bridge above you see .... Welcome to Florida

And you are travelling along beautiful white barrier beaches.

4We motored on over to Pensacola

Ted the marina manager is from NH and went to UNH. He is a happy boy after the BOSOX won the world series and he didn't need to wait through another 18 innings game to see it.

And there is always someone looking for a free lunch. Well I guess I shouldn't be too hard - catching it is work and

here he/she is going off to work. (how do you tell male from female herons?)

Our marina is up a nice creek off Pensacola Bay.

You can see the sun has set so it is time to say .......

Good Night and May God Bless
