A Road Trip to America Great Loop Fall Rendezvous


We are traveling to the Fall Rendezvous of the American Great Loop Cruising Association (AGLCA) in Florence, AL. The location makes it possible for Loopers currently traveling the AGL to arrive at the Joe Wheeler State Park marina within the natural travel time of the trip. As we delayed our trip until next year, thought it fun to do a road trip to attend the event.  Many on the website have commented what a great and informative time it is each year.

So I thought I would put the trip on the blog!! Why not?? No reason that I can think of.

We had a nice ride from NH to Stroudsburg, PA. We traveled to the north end of the Delaware River Gap national recreation area. We drove the length of the Park. It was very interesting. We wanted to hike some but the weather was less than ideal. The park main route goes though some very isolated areas. It may have been a more utilized route it years back but now many of the scattered homes and building seem long ago abandoned. The grey day only heightened the feeling of remoteness. I didn't even get out the camera.

We stayed at the Stroudsmoor Inn.

An excellent dinner and a fine (included) breakfast in the morning - Four Stars!
