Day 28 Trenton to Frankford ON Canada Sunday June 17, 2018

Day 28 Trenton to Frankford ON Canada Sunday June 17, 2018

It was nice last night - low 60s - nice for sleeping.  Sunny all day. Warmed up to 78 in afternoon. Short sleeves and shorts all day - my type of weather!!!

Remember the raisin bread we bought in Oswego? Well I thought it was a perfect day for a slice to start the day - with extra crunchy PB of course!! And it was for sure.

We stopped for fuel just before the famous Gateway to the Trent Severn Waterway bridge. Got to love Canada - fuel is $1.37 - not bad eh? Oh that is per litre you say? Well it's just money.😢😢😢
For the six locks we did, we shared them with Joe and Craig - Craig bought the boat and Joe is a delivery Captain helping him bring it home to Lakefield on the TS Waterway.
The lock staff are very proud of their facilities and they are all kept in handsome condition. Even flowers.
The locks on this canal are hand operated. You can see the attendents turning a walk around lever to open the gates.
We stopped at Frankford. Most locks have space on the approach walls that you can tie up on. Our neighbors on the other side.

And for day's first "I Spy" what strange thing do you see? Look in the water? Yes that is weed growing in the canal - need to check engine temps often.
From the wall looking at the peaceful scene at Lock 6
We walked to town for some supplies that I will describe below, but on the way, there was the Lions Club park. They had a snack shack - hot dog and hamburger - much better than the Acoustic Grill - hit the spot.

And for today's second "I Spy" can you find Perelandra? Hint, the canal is up the embankment in the background
There was a nice beach on the river too!
And for today's third "I Spy" can you see the three people in the river?  Two of them are in full waders.

And it being Father's Day, even I deserved a present. Yes one of the heads (toilets for the non-boaters) was plugged up. A fun project on a wonderful Father's Day afternoon. The best part was the hot shower afterwards.
After cleaning up I strolled around the lock - met folks on the other boats - pleasant chat.

As the is Sun is Now Sinking in the West,

 I will say

Good Night and May God Bless
