Day 172 Pearl Bayou St Andrews to Apalachicola Wednesday November 7, 2018

Clouds and sun battled to a draw today with  only passing showers. High in upper 70s

The night was calm and the storms of yesterday moved on.There were clouds on and off but only a passing shower and no water spouts today to see or show - whew! We traveled about 80 miles today so we wanted to get any early start. The sunrise was blocked mostly by the clouds but the sun poked through much like a little toddler standing behind a parent and looking cautiously at you from their hidden vantage point.

Pearl Bayou anchorage below.

And just outside the anchorage.

And here is our little toddler seeking a peek from behind mother nature.

And now bold enough to come out into the open.

We first had to cross East Bay.

And then into to another ditch for about 20 miles

This is area where Hurricane Michael hit the hardest. Flattened Mexico City is just to the right of us.

Thought I had a more close up photo, but this is a SeaTow boat. Who rescues the rescuer?

We then had to cross shallow Lake Wimico.

Back into a natural river. And an old railroad bridge.

Approach to Apalachicola

And along the waterfront.

All fueled up and ready to go tomorrow on our Gulf Crossing - stay tuned.

The town was hit some with  storm surge but is recovering nicely - many places are open. We went to dinner at the Owl restaurant with Steve and Kris from Caeruleus. We will buddy boat with them for the Gulf crossing tomorrow.  Don't worry if the post is a day late and we will be doing an overnight crossing.

So definately time to say..............

Good Night and May God Bless
