Well today was the day I had to do some work on the boat - enough pure R&R. It was replace the impeller in the generator day. When we were at Dog Island the afternoon of our crossing the generator over heated. I suspected the impeller and I was right. I was going to change the impellers (rubber paddle like vanes on a rubber/bronze hub in the seawater pumps for cooling water) in the generator and the two on the engines this winter but the generator didn't want to wait. The repair job was successful and only took a few hours.
It was early afternoon when I was done. We decided to take the Jolley Trolley to Dunedin. We thought it was a nice place when we drove through last Saturday on our way to Tarpon Springs. Here we are on the Magical Mystery Tour Bus - aka the Jolley Trolley
Dunedin is a nice village. Unlike the downtown of Clearwater, there are no vacant shops. The old railroad station is the town history museum and as you would expect in the middle of the town.
Mrs O mingling with the locals
Alfresco's was a very good choice for dinner. A nice variety of dinners and well prepared and very reasonably priced - my type of place.
This oak tree caught my eye. Glad it was saved my some wonderful ladies that staged a sit in some time ago. See the plaque below
And here is a most unique "bicycle built for two."
The Main Street is very nice.
We walked a ways and found ---- wait for it ------ ICE CREAM. And it was made on site and very good, We had had a cone on the beach the other night that was a huge disappointment - this was a rival to the Downeast Ice Cream store in Boothbay Harbor, Maine - our home port area. They even had waffle cones dripped in chocolate and rolled in peanuts - now we're talkin'.
We started to walk to the waterfront, but the return trolley arrived and we didn't want to wait another hour. Good thing too as I would have been tempted sorely to have a ice cream cookie sandwich to help with the wait.
When we got back to the marina the sun had just set. It was still in the upper 70s so we decided to go for a walk along the beach. The clouds made for some wonderful viewing and photos.
And as in all tourist destinations there are some real tacky attractions. This one right on the edge of being too much or creative for the kids. Just glad I don't have a little one pulling on my sleeve and saying "This one! I want to go on this ONE!"
So as I end with the above inspiring photo, I trust you can see that it is time to say ...................
Good Night and May God Bless
