Day 300 Fort Myers Beach 5th day Friday March 15, 2019

The night was again mild. Today the sun was shrouded in clouds but the air was wonderfully mild all day. There was even a short shower early evening.

DAY 300 - Wow, I remember being away 12 days and thinking what will it be like in winter when we are in Florida. Will I have become tired of being on the boat? Will we miss a home base? Well the answer is we still are having a wonderful time on the boat. As far as home - it feels like the boat is home.

But - and it is a big but - we do miss the big kids and the grandkids terribly. We can't wait to see them - that is the only downside we have found so far.

And one thing that has been so different from last winter is we are in far, far better shape than the winter cold hibernation funk we experienced last year in New Hampshire. The importance of that can not be understate for us old folks - it is much tougher to get back up to speed that it used to be.

And to that end, guess where the Admiral and crew were this morning? You got it!! And here is a photo of the Admiral showing how to blast a shot back.

And for my "I Spy" friends can you see some moving "faster than a speeding bullet?"

In addition to our daily exercise we got a lot done today. It was to Publix market after pickleball.

We had to move the boat since the harbormaster thought our mooring was swinging use too close to the adjacent channel. We moved us all the way to the other end of the mooring field to mooring No 1!.  And as Bob Uecker said "I must be in the front row!!" But I was right!!

And later we were off to do laundry - and had a happy hour snack from the marina upper deck. Here is a photo showing our head of the bay spot. And I had to laugh when the waitress Carol laughingly said upon bringing my fourth "Arnold Palmer", "Bet some folks are thinking you are really pounding away the drinks!"

And after our snack it was time to wander down town. There were two performers Jay Allen and Kylie Morgan. They are from Nashville and country singers. From several there Jay is an up and comer. We enjoyed several of their songs including a very amazing song by Jay about his Mom who died from Alzheimer's at the age of 54. The song is here and called  Blank Stares.  Really brought home my thoughts of the day before of following the dream today and not waiting until tomorrow.

Hope they both make it

And here is a close up of our 'Front Row" seat

And I have to say that is one cute Admiral - some glad to be in her navy - even if she womps me in Mexican Train most nights.

And in fact she did it again tonight - even after I laid down the whole set of dominoes to start a hand - first time we have ever seen that!!!

Well another wonderful day and it is again time to say .....................

Good Night and May God Bless
