Day 14 August 2019 Cruise Northeast Harbor 4th day Monday August 26, 2019

The night was again cool but clear air. The sun was out to start and around most of the day with some clouds at times.  The wind was light all day.  Temperatures in the upper 60s

Today was another hiking day. We all took the bus to Bubble Pond. Our hike followed along the south end of Eagle Lake as Faye and I did last week.

This time we turned onto the connecting trail to Jordan Pond called the Carrying Trail.

We wanted to get some nice views and after a while we turned to the trail for South Bubble Mountain that is where 'Bubble Rock" is located. As you can see below, bubble rock is perched on the edge of a cliff. It was left by the glacier. The rock reportedly is not native to this area. I am sure that our effort to launch it from its home on the cliff was a futile as the millions be for us.

Here you can see that it does look precarious.

There are cracks in the stone underneath bubble rock so one day the ice may crack it enough to send it for a ride - but I am not betting it will be in my lifetime.

Jim and I only here as the ladies where not to be coaxed to climb down to this location.

The top of the South Bubble was a few steps further.

It was after lunch time and we decided that we needed to sample some of the seafood that the area is world famous for - and that is lobster. We drove to Thurston's Lobster in Bernard. Bernard is on the southwest side of the island.

Like many lobster pounds, you order at the window and they bring it to you.

And bring it they did.  We all had the jumbo lobster roll - yum!!!!

And the setting is a true working harbor. What a great place to enjoy such a Maine feast.

Faye and I had to laugh at "Ryan's Way" Our son of the same name thought that was how it should be on a number of occasions - sometimes he was not correct.

Here you can see Cadillac Mountain and its neighbors in the distance. You can see why they call this area the "quietside" of Mount Dessert

And a final photo before we headed back to the boat for the last game of Mexican Train.

For those of you wondering, I will be able to sleep better knowing we weren't win less in this round of competition.

And as the sun has come to the end of its time for today - so has the time for our visit together here in Maine. Having said our good nights and good byes it must be time to say ................

Good Night and May God Bless
