Day 1 Summer Cruise Indiantown Island

Friday July 19. We are underway for our summer cruise!!!! And an adventurous start it was. We traveled all of 3.63 miles from Robinhood to Indiantown Island. It is a beautiful island that is owned by the Boothbay Land Trust, but typically on the start of our cruise we try to get some distance eastward. But I had to re-glue the attachment bracket to our dinghy that allows us to haul it up onto the back of the swim platform. And it had to dry for 48 hours before using it. So we towed the dinghy the short distance to Indiantown Island.

It was a glorious day and we hiked the island.

This is the south end of the island and it has a wonderful overlook.

After our hike we took the dinghy around the island.

Back at the boat we watched the day fade slowly to night.

But as you can see it did not fade to total darkness. The full moon was simply mesmerizing. The photo captures just a portion of the glory of the scene.

And while I would like to stay up to see the moon travel across the sky, we do plan to make some distance tomorrow and I will need to arise at a decent hour so ...................

Good Night and May God Bless
