The night was again cool but clear air. The sun was out to start and around most of the day. The wind was light all day. Temperatures in the upper 60s
Today was time to do a nice hike.
Jim and Justine drove over to Northeast Harbor. All took the launch across the harbor to the pier that leads to the Thuya Gardens.
Here we are working our way up the pathway to Thuya Gardens and overlooking Northeast Harbor. Can you see Perelandra?

Our first stop was to visit Thuya Lodge. Summer home of Joseph Curtis
The home was donated by Curtis and remains exactly as he left it - including the beautiful china.
And here are some photos of the wonderful gardens - we always are amazed at the beauty and vast variety of the flowers.

And finally we are off. Jim and Justine are our fearless leaders out of the gate.
A plaque to Charles Elliot, - placed on guess what? - Elliot Mountain. He is credited with a big part in the creation of Acadia National Park.
And after a wonderful hike through the woods we treat ourselves to lunch at Jordan Pond.
And the wheels on the bus back to Northeast Harbor will soon "go round and round."
The intrepid crew on the dock at NEH. We are heading back to the boat for a game of Mexican Train, it was again close and the same result as last night, and then steaks on the barbie. We had also bought donuts from the Colonels Bakery - they are the best donut I have ever had. They were all consumed doing our watching of the Pats three pre-season game.
And by the time the game was over, darkness had once again raced in to cover the rays of the sun and signal the end of a fine day. So it is time to say ...............
