The 2022 boating season has been a great one. The weather was as good as any we can remember, the places we visited were of great interest and much enjoyed, we were able to arrange for time for friends and family to join us on the boat, and the we found some new adventures again this year.
We have found that taking the boat to be hauled in early September has allowed a easier time of moving the boat to NH and also allowing time for other things get done before cold weather begins to grab hold of the days. So we thus planned to have the boat hauled on Monday September 12. Our hope was to have several nice days to travel the nearly 80 miles from Maine to NH. We were pleased that indeed this became the case. We left on Wednesday and arrived in NH on Friday morning. The winds were nearly calm all three days - a real blessing. Here is some views of the places we stopped.
Wednesday were traveled about 30 miles to Jewell Island which is the outer island of Casco Bay.
But every trip needs to start with breakfast. Love the Smucker's strawberry.

We arrived early afternoon at Jewell. We were anchored for a short time when a gaggle of kayakers came by. It is a favorite destination for such small boat trips.

Normally we would go for a hike on the island, but Faye strained her knee recently and we decided that the required climbing to get ashore was not a prudent thing to do on this trip. So we enjoyed the wonderful view and watched the tide go down. The revealed tidal land made fine drone shots.
The day revealed another fine sun shine filled day.
We traveled about sixty miles today. Another wonderful mild and calm day on the water.
York, Maine was our port for today. It is a great spot to stage for an easy run Newington the next day. The harbor is on the York River. The town has guest moorings that are quite handy. The current in the river is very strong so a good mooring is reassuring.
As walking around town should prove to have minimal obstacles for Faye, we decided that a walk was in order.
We crossed the river to the main town side. We continued along a nice harbor walk until we reached the beach.
The beach is on the open ocean side and also is the start of a marvelous shore walk.
The shore walk is literally on the edge of shore - and in front of some rather impressive homes.
And you can see that some guard their privacy rather forcefully.
A most pleasant way to end the day. And back on the boat it was time to fly the drone for that amazing perspective,

Friday it was a short and pleasant ride from York to Newington, a distance of about 16 miles.
