Our Boat

The Captain and Admiral (from left to right)

Our boat is a Bayliner 38 1989. We have enjoyed owning and cruising aboard since 1999. It has twin diesels. It features two staterooms, each with a full size bed, and two heads - one for the Admiral and one for the Captain. The boat has been easy to maintain and has been without any major failures. We have often thought of going bigger but we always conclude "what do we get we don't have now?"

  1. Hey Ron...just finished reading through all your posts, and I must say, it did give me a little bit of nostalgia. I miss most all the beautiful spots you see only by boat! We will be watching for reports of your big trip in the spring!
PS thanks for a lovely visit on Sunday...great to see you guys!

  2. Hey Ron, I'd like to ask a question and hope this is where I should. I have a Bayliner 3870 1989 model as well and want to change out my main anchor. I notice in some of your pictures it looks as if you have a Rocna with the roll bar. It appears you didn't have to cut your bow pulpit. Did you have to make any modifications? I am wanting to add a Mantus or a Rocna. Thanks. My email is woody7121@yahoo.com

  3. Ron,

We have enjoyed following you on your trip. BUT - did you miss a turn way back? Or are you taking a big side trip to ????

    1. If you mean did we miss the turn to the Tenn Tom, then the answer is we passed it - but intentionally. We are planning on going all the way up on the Tennessee River to Knoxville. And that is also why we were ahead of most of the other Loopers coming down the rivers from Chicago. And based on out Tennessee travels to date it has been a fine decision.
