We started early from Holbrook Harbor. We were away at 5:30.
I got the Mavic out before leaving and a little after sunrise
Still amazed at the perspective for the air - some pix from the video
The day was wonderfully calm. The fog of last night has left and a forecast of a nice day prompted us to get underway to NE Harbor. The ride took us down the famous Eggemoggin Reach. The photo below is the start of the reach on the west end. The suspension bridge is about a third of the way down the six or so miles of the reach - you can see it on the trip log.
The photo below is the approach to Bass Harbor Light passage that is a channel cut in the bar that extends across to the adjacent island out of pix to the right.
The first thing we do after arriving in NEH is head for a hike. The trails here are a treasure we never tire of. Today we took one of our favorite trails that begins in NEH and ends at Jordan Pond - and lunch for the weary hikers on the lawn. The first thing is to go through Thuya Gardens shown below. It is amazing this time of year but is arranged to reach peak in early August. Photos do not do it justice.
On the trail there are several wonderful brooks to cross
The prize lunch on the lawn. Jordan Pond provides the foreground to the Bubbles mountain in the distance. Which are a nice hike as well. The photo is taken from the balcony of the Jordan Pond House while we wait our turn.
The pix below is of NE harbor looking southerly to the entrance. Perelandra is about in the middle of the photo. We plan to stay here four days to enjoy Acadia National Park - reported to be the most visited national park in the nation - and Bar Harbor.
A good night to all - Our Current Trip
