Day 197-198 Longboat Key Marina Sunday and Monday, December 2&3, 2018

Warm both days mid 80s. Sunday was sunny and Monday Cloudy with almost fog.

For future reference, as our time here at the marina extends thru next February, I will cut back on the posts so you don't get a daily update and say "One more photo of the marina and I am going to throw the phone!"  So don't panic if there is not a post everyday.

Sunday we went back into the City early. We had seen a church that reminded us of back home when we were here last January and thought we would give it a try. We were also looking for somewhere that might have some Christmas choral programs that might make it feel a little more like December and Christmas time. The parade last night kind of did that but it has the same funny feel of "this can't be a Christmas Parade" that I had one year in Australia watching the Christmas Parade in Melbourne with the temperature over 100F and Santa in shorts (red at least) and sweating like Max as he is struggling to pull the Grinch's sleigh up Mt Crumpet.

We took the bus in town again and treated ourselves to another find meal at the First Watch restaurant.

And my equally (well almost) healthy meat lover's skillet. Notice the fruit!!!!

This statue in front of the nearby Italian restaurant made me smile.

And we figured that the church folk might be OK with this car parked outside.

We had planned to go to the 9:00 contemporary service but found that in December there is only one combined service - so we went off to the Pastor Bill morning class - and Faye sat right down to fill out her information card - and looked like she fit right in don't you think?

We had to laugh when the Pastor showed up in un-tucked shirt and jeans. But he was very enjoyable and not stoic as can be the case with Baptists. He did clean up well for the regular service and it was great to have seen both sides of him. You would have thought I would have got a photo of the church. eh?

Back at the boat, I decided to take a daylight stroll of the docks looking for more interesting boat names.  I walked the east half of the marina and found these that I liked.

Disappointed them twice I'd say.

Can't figure why any one would have this. Maybe he sells car insurance.

This one on the small power boat is hard to read - "Knot for Sail"

Guess this time it must have gotten better?

And this one is "Mango Mama" As this boat looks rather bloated, thought it should be "Mango Mama to Be" Always wondered where dinghies come from.

And here is a shot from today - Monday. There are several things to note. The foggy looking day is the first. It even felt real damp like back in Maine, but the air was no where as cool as it would be in Maine.

And this boat proves we are staying in the high rent district. This Marlow Explorer pulled in late in the afternoon directly in front of us. It is likely 80 plus feet and I can tell you that their retirement funds are somewhat (really pant loads) more than mine. But we are in the same place and having a great time too!!!

And besides, I think that boat is too big - don't you? No you say? Well, maybe I will might need to buy a lottery ticket sometime.

I did start my cleaning and worked on the flybridge today. Waxing of the topsides will start soon.

And as we had dinner and enjoyed immensely the Pats and Vikings football game, it is now dark and nearing the end of the day, so it is time to say ........
