The day did in fact turn out to be very nice - as promised - and unlike most of the recent nice days that were forecast nice and but turned not so fine. Our day was a good ride and we decided to get underway at 7:00. But the predicted morning fog made us think better of charging out blindly - so to speak.
As you can see the sun was bright so we waited until about 8:00
8:00 am
And we said goodbye to our big eagle that gave a good bye screech.
Our distance was about 65 miles.
The promised light winds and calm seas did materialize. It was a perfect day to make some distance.
Passing Stonington
And Mark Island at the west end of Merchant Row.
Here we are entering Fox Island Thorofare.
And Goose Rocks Lighthouse. I would not want to man this lighthouse in the day.
Browns Head at the western end for Fox Island Thorofare.
And the sugar loaves
Having crossed Penobscot Bay we pass Two Bush Island
We have passed Mosquito Island and are approaching my other (and now only - see post of Warren Island) favorite tree.
And I was relieved and pleased to see my tree survived the winter storms that devoured my little tree on Warren Island
And soon we passed Marshall Light at the entrance to Port Clyde - that lost the general store to fire this spring.
Passing Eastern Egg Rock - where the puffins - I'll take the naturalists claim they are there - live.
Ram Island light and we soon will turn to starboard for the final leg into Boothbay
And here is looking at BBH. We will stay for two nights to relax. Before heading to Robinhood Marine
Steaks on the barbie were a wonderful reward for our rather long but easy and beautiful run.
And believe it or not - clouds and rain are forecast to come in overnight - oh well hopefully we can get in our walk in the morning. So time to rest up for that potential effort tomorrow so ............
Good Night and May God Bless
