Day 8 Tarpon Springs to Sarasota Thursday January 25, 2018


We had a great day. As we noted earlier our trip is to look for warm weather and larger boats that we may someday acquire to spend extended time on the water.

The day was sunny but very cool. We have yet to feel that Florida wonderful warmth. It did warm up later in the afternoon to about 70 degrees from about 45 to start.

Today we looked at the second boat of the trip. It was in Clearwater at a very nice private marina.  It was fun to see the boat but also the grounds of the compound - that is what it felt like as the homes where wedged in so close together. But it was definitely upscale.

The boat we looked at was a Offshore 48.

A very nice boat. But we both came away with the feeling of "what would we gain over the boat that we have now?

We ended up in Sarasota. We came to meet up with Loopers Paul and Taffy. Folks that we had met at the Loopers Rendezvous in October. They are moored in the bay.

I got a nice deal on a water view room at the Westin right on the harbor. I thought I would say that before I heard the collective moan of "What the Westin? Are you kidding me. Dad/Papa/Ron would never spend that much money on a room."
