The night was mild. The sun was again magnificently bright and warmed the day nicely. High 70s by mid-day. Another fine day.

I'll begin today's with a step back several days to when we left Longboat Key. This is the photo that Richard and Betsy sent us from their vantage point on the the Ringling Drive Bridge. Thanks so much for a great shot.
We had a short travel day of only about 10 miles to Cayo Costa State Park. We went by the town of Boca Grande - very upscale place - on Gasparilla Island.
- and crossed the Boca Grande Inlet that leads to Charlotte Harbor- and on to the wonderful anchorage at Cayo Costa. The anchorage is larger than I imagined from the charts - room for a pant-load of boats.
We are on our way by dinghy into the park dock. Like Don Pedro State Park, you can only get here by boat - but thankfully the island is free of development.
The state park is much larger than Don Pedro and has wonderful hiking trails!!! We walked 4.93 miles today - according to my phone tracking app.
The vegetation varied greatly from upland scenes to ..........
......... near shore areas to ...........
... to wonderful beaches.
Who needs Hawaii?? (Well it would be nice to go sometime.)
The Admiral in command of the hiking forces!!
We hiked to the north end of the island. We walked back the Cemetery Trail that ran though the middle of the island. There was indeed a small cemetery with a number of graves but only a few headstones.
Back at the dock.
As the evening light arrived several white heron came to look for their dinner while I barbecued some tasty burgers. I offered to share but they said thanks but that they were interested in fresh sushi.
We ate dinner watching another wonderful sunset
And the anchor lights from all the boats was rather fun to see - can't remember seeing so many in one place before.
So you can see it is night time so I will say .............
Admiral Faye won Mexican Train for the second night in a row and ..............
Good Night and May God Bless
