On Friday we motored around the east end of Deer Isle and then up the Eggomoggin Reach and around to Holbrook Harbor. We have been here several times this year and we just love it.
On Friday we just stayed on the boat and read and relaxed. Does any one like Harry Bosch novels?
One thing we did was watch the changing scene caused by the tides. The two shots below give a good idea of how on the ocean the vista and perspective changes constantly without even having to move. It is like watching a slow motion movie.
On Saturday we took a walk on the mainland side of the Holbrook Island Sanctuary. You may recall in previous visits we walked on Holbrook Island.
There was a trail for a ways along the shore that offered some nice views.
We then walked along the dirt road within the Sanctuary to the picnic area at the east end of Holbrook Harbor.
Along the road there were a few pretty spots. Here is the tidal pool called behind Goose Falls - a narrow tidal entrance
A fresh water pond was next.
The beach at the head of Holbrook Island is serene today.
After a session of toilet repair - yes you can call a plumber but - a) they may never arrive - or b) you would not be able to afford the call anyway - a nice shower was wonderful and then more R&R.
Salsa Chicken with rice was a wonderful meal to have as we watched the sun slide away.
As a crescent moon has taken over the "top dog" honors for heavenly bodies from the sun, it is time to say .......................
Good Night and May God Bless
