Day 2 August Cruise BBH to Dix Island Thursday August 13, 2020

The night was warm and the air was calm and we left the windows open - again! We only did that when we were down south. The sun was out in the morning and was out all day. Temperatures mid-eighties - a wonderful day to be on the water - it was again roasting back home in NH.

We got up at a decent hour so we could get our walk in to Spruce Point before the heat of the day and to give us plenty of time to travel the 30 or so miles to Dix Island. The seas were very calm so it was a great day to travel the open water portion to Penobscot Bay.

Leaving Boothbay there were several large yachts anchored about. Again perspective is interesting - with my bow in the foreground this 200 foot yacht doesn't seem so big,

But this shot of a strange looking mega yacht looks a little larger than our beloved Perelandra.

And Whitehead Light is always a welcome sight.  Notice the flat seas that can be real bouncy here.

And we are again tucked deep into the wonderful anchorage of Dix Island. And the large yachts pictured above couldn't anchor where we are - size does matter.

And some aerial shots.  Funny how a little elevation can make the sun reappear - at least for a short time.

And as you can see the sun has headed to the west coast and left us with another beautiful end to the day.

So ...............

Good Night and May God Bless
