Benner Island - Warren Island - Holbrook Harbor, Castine

On Saturday July 26 we departed Robinhood Marina on a beautiful day. Glen and Andrea on Chickadee III are our cruise companions for the week on this trip.

Our time together began last night with Glen and Andrea providing tickets to FOOTLOOSE at the Maine State Music Theater in Brunswick at Bowdoin college. It was a very fun start to our week. We have not attended in many years. The play was excellent and the stage scenes using full scale display screens was amazing.

The morning started with a hint of fog, but ...............

clear sky soon won out as you can see as Chickadee III is on the move after fueling up.

Our first stop was the harbor formed by Allen and Benner islands - at the third dot on the map.

It was owned by Betsy Wyeth, wife of Andrew Wyeth. She made a beautiful village on both islands. It was given to Colby College for care and management.

Reportedly the site of the first Anglican church service in the new world - hence the cross.

Beautiful Concordia Yawl built 1961 according to the passing Captain.

On the move to Warren Island via Whitehead and Muscle Ridge Channel. Here passing Marshall Point light at the entrance to Port Clyde

Just a little further and I see that my favorite tree has survived another winter.

Whitehead Light at entrance to Muscle Ridge channel.

It very hazy - and thus this photo is missing the Camden Hills normally seen at this point.

Owls Head at the north end of Muscle Ridge.

We arrived mid afternoon at Warren Island - one of our favorite spots. The seventh dot on the map.

The next morning is looking like it wants to clear the fog of yesterday.

We are headed north to go around the tip of Islesboro and then into Holbrook Harbor in Castine
