What a glorious start to the trip. And as I noted yesterday that sunsets are great, sunrises are amazing as well.

The lay day yesterday was a wise move. Cloudless skies made the day absolutely perfect. The seas had calmed to lake like conditions. Now that's boating weather.

We needed a photo of our start day - intrepid looking don't you think?

We departed just after the wonderful sunrise above. We have a seven mile run down the river to get to open sea. As this was the first trip for the season I was going easy. Several miles into the trip some loud alarm sounded. After several minutes of "what is that?!!!" I discovered it was the new AIS machine announcing an upcoming ship that I didn't see right off. This is a good addition to the navigation tools.

The AGLCA flag is out at our first stop..

Can you tell where
Why it is the summer home of the Santa Clauses' cousin, St Bobby.

Gloucester is a great stop. The city is full of history. Based on fishing, the welcoming info noted that over 5000 seaman had been lost at sea that called Gloucester home. That was much higher than I would have guessed

Main Street is an eclectic mix of shops and food places.
And you can see the beautiful day continued into the early afternoon.
 Let the reading begin.

So we say

Good Night and May God Bless
