Today was a good day to finish my boat work of waxing and bottom painting.  I was done by noon time (did you remember to set back your clocks?). The clouds began to show breaks in the afternoon and the temperature would warm then cool when the clouds regained the upper hand - this went on most of the afternoon.

We both really needed a walk today. We decided to go back to the Oar Restaurant that we had dinghied to with Jim and Justine early in the week. There was a bridge over the Bayou Chico that we needed to walk over. Here is a picture of the boatyard - can you see our RV home?

On the other end of the bridge was this interesting operation. Any idea what it is?

Well it is a concrete fabrication facility. They are making concrete beams and piling that are being used in the building of the replacement bridge at the north end of Pensacola Bay. In the first photo in the upper portion of the photo you can see the finished beams and pilings. In the bottom photo you can see the forms used to make cast the pieces. The pilings are made the in blue forms in the foreground. The beams are made in the larger forms under the blue tarps - makes me feel right at home. You have to be from Maine to get the "blue tarp" reference.

Our walk was about half an hour. The tropical theme was a little bit of a stretch in today's weather but the food was great and so was the people watching.

On the way back the bridge passed over a dry storage marina. It seemed funny to be looking down at some many boats that were high in the air.  If you have never seen one of these, the boats are set on racks by a large fork lift with special long fingers that reach under the length of the boat. They are stacked in the racks until the owner wants to go for a ride. They are placed in the water and ready for the owner when they arrive. After the fun on the water they are lifted from the water and put back until the next time.

Here is looking over to the other side of the bridge and out to Pensacola Bay. We will be heading that way tomorrow after getting launched mid morning.

Another look at our boat yard motel.

After a few more football games from last week - we haven't watched them all - it is now dark real early. So it is time to say..............

Good Night and May God Bless
