Day 352 Port Washington 2nd day Sunday May 5, 2019

The night was cool and rainy and wind picked up towards morning.  Rain and breezy all day. Temperatures stayed in 50s all day.

From our stop here in Port Washington last year we knew it would be a great day to sit out a weather day. As you can see it was a good choice.

And last night I changed the flag from our "In Progress" white .....

....... to our Gold "Completed Loop." Even in the rain it looks great and we are proud to be flying the Gold!!

It was a good day to relax and do some needed cleaning and organizing ...... AND

playing the Game 7 of the World Championship of Remote Mexican Train.

As you recall, the Admirals had taken a commanding 3 - 0 lead in the series and appeared invincible.

But then the captains managed to win one and they felt good that it was not a clean sweep. Game 5 was also a mild shocker when in an apparent fluke of luck, the Captains prevailed again. The Admirals, realizing that the luck was likely to swing their way in Game 6 were mildly dismayed but still confident when the Captains tied the series at 3-3 games a piece.

A Game 7 - was it possible the Captains could pull off the greatest comeback since Brady and the Pats in Superbowl LI? ESPN even picked up the excitement and arranged for interviews after the final game.

So, if you follow sports at all you have likely heard already the Captains did indeed move into the elite annals of sports history with their win.

After the momentous event, ESPN spoke with Admiral Faye who said, "It was so much fun, I just come to play!!" Admiral Justine was equally pragmatic and said "No skill there, just luck was with them!"  Captain Jim was humble in his comments when he said, "It was just the luck of the draw and it went in definite streaks. We were just lucky to be on the receiving end this time."  Captain Ron was a lot less humble. He is quoted as saying, "As my good friend Captain Rick of Eagle One Thing After Another says, YA BABY!!!!"   In a rumor that began to circulate later in the day, it appears that Captain Ron may be having a Seinfeld experience of  "No Soup for YOU" for a few days. Sport commentators are suggesting a more humble response would have been far better.

And in my final comment for the day I note that Admiral Faye was not the least vindictive and I was served a wonderful meal of steak and humble pie. Both tasted wonderful.

So it is time to say .................

Good Night and May God Bless
