We have enjoyed being on the boat a good amount of time. Our adventures have been all close to home with Boothbay being the destination a fair number of times.
We did visit Seal Bay that is up the Damariscotta River. It is still one of our favorite spots.
Here are some photos getting there and of Seal Cove.
This is Fisherman's Passage and Ram Island lighthouse off Boothbay.
The river runs hard in the narrows just before getting to Seal Cove. You can see by looking at the wake behind the buoy, the nearly 4 knot current going against us. Oh well - sometimes you ride with it and sometimes you have to buck it. There should be a proverb in that somewhere.
Sunsets are always wonderful
The next morning was wonderful. We hiked Hodgon Island that forms the south side of the anchorage.
This is the welcome sign for the trails
A pleasant spot we always stop at to sit and watch the seals and birds trying to catch their next meal.
As you can see it is a beautiful island- so glad it is open to the public.
The other big treat is we had our three granddaughters from Wolfeboro come on the boat for several days at the end of June. And the most unusual thing about having them this time on the boat was, they drove themselves to us!!!
The weather was great and we had a wonderful time.
This day we could not go through the swing bridge and had to go out around Southport Island. But my able co-captain Bree was able to help get us around the long way.
This is Burnt Island Lighthouse and we never get to see it from this angle on a normal passage.
Maddy Lauren and Bree waiting for ice cream - as it should be!!
Let the games begin
When in Boothbay.................
We didn't plan it this way, but we picked to come during Boothbay Windjammer days. It added to the fun.
Fudge anyone?
And we all enjoyed the fireworks!!!!
As you can see the sun has set so it is time to say ...................
Good Night and May God Bless
