Day 3 of our cruise began with a few clouds.
We walked Warren Island again today and did the circle of the island in a counterclockwise direction this time.
The State website has a nice summary history of the island The link is here
The grave stone of Mrs Zilica, aged 22, wife of Thomas, is still here.
As well of the remnants of the former large cottage owned by the Folwell family
We departed soon after our walk of the island and traveled northerly around Islesboro and then to Holbrook Harbor.
Soon after getting underway the clouds gave way to bright sunshine once again.
Here is the approach to Holbrook Harbor
We were pleased to find the guest mooring open that is directly off Holbrook Island. It has always been occupied in previous times. This view is from the dock on Holbrook Island where we have landed to start our walk around our second most favorite island. Information on this also wonderful State Park is here
The fields here are part of the wonder of the island. It certainly supported a farming life in the past.
We again this year saw monarch butterflies in this field. But far fewer in numbers than last year when it was seemingly covered with them.
And our wonderful moon made a return appearance.
Day 4 of our trip and day 2 at Holbrook Harbor.
We found a new trail again!!!
It was also in the Holbrook Park area. It was a trail I had avoided because some reviews sometime back were not very favorable. But we did indeed enjoy our hike.
The screen shot of our hike is below
The total hike was about 4 miles and included about 1 mile each way on the park road we walked to get to the trailhead. The views are not great but you can see the water through the trees.
Along park road
So night has once again arrived .................
Good Night and May God Bless
