Day 37 Lovesick Lock to Bobcaygeon Tuesday June 26, 2018

It was cool last night - upper forties - nice for sleeping with the covers pulled up. The clouds remained departed that gave a clear night. We awoke to a cloudless sky and warming sun to take the chill off. The strong breeze of yesterday was gone, and a cooling breeze built nicely in the afternoon.

The trip from Lovesick Love to Bobcaygeon was about 26 miles. We had one lock mid way that we slid right into and then continued to Bobcaygeon where there were one more for the day. There was some nice rural areas like below

 and then there we places where it seems the next McMansion was bigger than the last. These were locate principally on Pigeon Lake, the large body of water just before the village of Bobcaygeon. I decided that I didn't come to photograph the "cottages" of the nearby Toronto-ites so you will need to use you imagination. I did photgraph one of many cottages located on islands. It is amazing that such a nice place is on such a tiny spot of land. Our Maine boating friends can think of Harbor Island in Boothbay Harbor.

There are usually spots to tie up to at the locks on the lower and upper sides. We have found the upper sides to be generally more appealing. The one at Bobcaygeon was no exception. There was a nice space just after the lock as you can see in the two shots below.

To go with the high end homes in the area, there are a few high end boutiques in the center of the village. The two below are the Beach Pavilion in the foreground and the stone building on the left is the land of shoes - it reminded me of a satellite store of Macy's from NYC. 

 Fortunately Faye did only looking and no buying.

They even are suppliers to Paul Bunyan as you can see from the size of this chair. He didn't stop by though while we were there.

At the end on the street the building above is located was this small, but pleasant, park area that we sat at for a moments of reflection and feeling of the cool breeze

Walking back into town we took some photos of the lower wall, that you can see is not as nice as the upper wall.

The day was finished with a nice walk - which proved noteworthy as we reached 8000 steps - which removed all guilt so we could have wonderful ice cream at the Karwartha Ice Cream factory.  We may need to spend another day here.

The ice cream has made me sleepy, so time to say .....
