Day 41 Fenelon Falls to Rosedale Saturday June 30 2018

Day 41 Fenelon Falls to Rosedale Saturday June 30 2018

Clear sky at night.  The temperature was mild in the 60s. the morning warmed again quickly. A nice breeze came up soon. A nice, but very warm day.

We traveled from one lock to another. The trip was pleasant across Cameron Lake and into the cut canal that led to Rosedale Lock. We wanted to go through the lock and tie up above the lock but there was only space on the lower side - which was fine and a nice view looking back into the lake.

A few shots from around the lock highlights why it, and its location a nice middle distance from some heavy boating centers, many boats like to tie up here for a day or two.

Shots below are from the upper side of the lock.
The Trent Severn Waterway is nicely managed and there is a substantive amount of investment placed in improvements. The cabins below are an example. There have been constructed only the lock canal here and can be rented by non-boaters and boaters alike. Seems like a nice way to spend some time on the water.

The photo below is of the profile of the TSW. Think you can even read it if you click on it to view. The reason that I added it is point out that once we pass through the Rosedale lock on Monday, we will be at the highest point of the TSW - and it will be all downhill from there - at least to Severn and the Georgian Bay
The reason we moved from Fenelon Falls was to get to a lock we could stay for two days. Cousin Brenda and husband Terry, graciously, came and picked us up for a ride back to their house for the weekend. Brenda was able to sneak up behind me while I was waiting for them. The reason was they bought a new Jeep Trail Hawk this past week - and it was white. Seeing it drive in the roadway I said about the white Jeep approaching, "That can't be them, They have a black Jeep" And thus I turned my back to the parking lot continue to watch the action in the lock. "Hey there!!" a close by voice announced in my ear.  "Where did you come from?" .... "Oh I see, eh?"
We had a pleasant ride back to their very nice home in Brampton, which is part of the Greater Toronto area. Our trip was strange first, by having a ride in a automobile. and second, by making a stop at a Walmart. Toronto is crowded and this Walmart was doing it best to mimic its host City area - it was packed.

We watched a fun movie, A Walk in the Woods, with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. It was about two old guys attempting to walk the Appalachian Trail - since we all talk a big talk of doing some serious hiking. As you can guess they didn't make it and neither would we.

So Time to say

Good Night and May God Bless
