The sun came out this morning and remained most of the day until a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Before the storm it was high 70s and muggy - the storm cleared the air. The clouds overnight meant that the temperature only went down to the mid 60s - good sleeping weather.

The day was again one of mixed emotion. We realized that the SOO was the most northerly point in our trip. It is even as high as mid Maine for latitude. Good to be heading southerly but a chapter on the trip has closed. So bittersweet.
The trip down was in the shipping channel and we played with several big ships.
The first one was one that was headed north.
This one, the Indiana Harbor, we chased down the St Mary's River and passed. It is a 1000 feet long and 105 feet wide. The SOO locks are 110 feet wide.
The Indiana Harbor slowed to 5 knots and we passed them at 10 knots. Our wake really rocked them. NOT!
After we passed them they picked up speed!! to 10 knots but we stayed ahead of them.
All tied up at Detour MI. And safely ahead of a thunderstorm that passed through around 5:30.
We eat well on board. Frozen mussels are really quite good. A wonderful hamburger and salad finished the meal.
Main Street of DeTour Michigan. A nice town but it was a small town.
These folks seemed to like the garage more than the house.
We had a very nice walk through town and the marina view is seen below.
If you find the most distant land in this picture (about the middle) you are looking at Canada and the area of Bruce Mines we were in several nights ago. More melancholy feelings.
As you can see the sun is headed down so it is time to say ...............................

I removed the bar sink this spring - did did make the counter much more usable
