Today was a fun day. We went to the Erin Feis (Irish Festival) in Peoria. We took a cab ride in and went to CVS to pickup a prescription. It was a mile from downtown so we just walked towards the river where the festival was being held. Here are a few shots from downtown. It seems nice but there is no residential space downtown so it is quite empty on the weekends.
On the way to the festival we had to stop to see the Caterpillar museum. The center piece of the display is a full sized mining dump truck. It has a capacity of 400 tons - that is four rail cars. This truck is only used in mining pits to move the excavated rock to onsite processing facilities
The tires are over 14 feet tall.
This this found interesting. It shows the raw casting of an engine block milled block on the right with cylinder sleeve installed.
The festival featured a lot of fine music bands. We enjoyed three especially the Turas, the Outside Track, and the Elders
As you can see from the last photo it was dark already before we left to come home - using Uber for the first time - worked well. So I will say..............
Good Night and May God Bless
