Day 13 July Cruise Holbrook Island to Warren Tuesday July 28, 2020

The night was warm and the air was calm but thunderstorms moved along northerly of us. The sun was out in the morning and then the afternoon again came with a few little showers. Temperatures in mid eighties - a nice day.

The day started with the sun dominating the beautiful summer sky. It was a warm night and even early in the morning the summer haze from a hot day was in the air. It was a great day to get some aerial shots with a blue sky that would contrast with the ones taken on a cloudy day.

Immediately upon take off I flew over the rock where the seals hang out just to the north of us.  It was so interesting to see them from above.

Today we traveled up around the north end of Isleboro Island and down to Warren Island.  Instead of walking around on the island again we did something that we have never done. We visited Grindel Point on Isleboro. This is directly across from Warren Island harbor.

This point serves a number of functions. There is the Grindel Point lighthouse,

the ferry terminal for access to and from the island,

docking area for the harbor behind the point,  (Warren Island is directly across from the dock)

and the reason for our stop, Karen's snack shack.

Bob from Honey Dew had said that you could get a good fish sandwich here and the french fries were also good. He was correct on both points.

It was interesting to hear that the Covid Virus effects are real here on the Island as well. Karen said her business is down $800 to 900 a day from last year. That is tough in a short season. That is a lot of lost revenue for a small business owner.  Sure hope the promise of vaccines being tested comes to be.

We split two games of Sky-Jo after lunch. It got real warm at times in the afternoon when the breeze stopped.  Some wonderful grilled hot dogs with grilled buns were a very satisfactory dinner.

And now the sky is filled with countless dots of light - so it must be time to say ...........................

Good Night and May God Bless
