Day 7 August Cruise Seal Bay 2nd day Tuesday August 18, 2020

The night clouded in and rain came strongly overnight. Clouds stayed around until mid morning when the sun returned to bring a nice afternoon - but with a passing thunderstorm that traveled mostly to the north of us. The evening was one that you dream about on those cold winter nights.

The spot we are in is very protected and there was just a little wind with the clouds and rain of last night. The rain stayed around until mid morning and the bright sun came out - but temperatures were in the upper 60s and the air was very clear.

All our neighbors, including the family of four with very energetic young ones that yesterday anchored so close that we could pass the Grey Poupon from boat to boat - and had a bay the size of central park to choose, left and we were all alone in this magical spot. It was an idyllic day of just taking in the sense of place and reading and relaxing.

You can see the cloud line that stayed nicely to our north most of the day.

It is a wonderful spot. It is so much fun to simply watch the scene change with the tides. It is like watching a slow motion National Geographic documentary.

The remainder of the thunder clouds that engulfed us for a time mid afternoon.

I really liked how the sun played through the tail end of our cloud line.

And with most of the photos I post on the blog, while they do a good job, they do not capture the full glory of the Maine Coast - simply a place of which I will never tire.

As you can see the spires of the spruce trees have poked a hole in the sky and drained nearly all the light from the day.  So it must be time to say ..........................

Good Night and May God Bless
