Today was our first full day in Michigan. Jim has a full day planned for us.

It began with breakfast at the House of Flavors for breakfast. As it was close to our hotel, Faye and I walked to it. Along the way we found "Ryan's Computer Repair." Yesterday you may recall we found Robert street that we noted was the name of our younger son. Ryan is our older son - and he can repair computers - but likely not moonlighting here from NH.

The book in the window also reminded us of Ryan. He has always been interested in EMT work and the like. As a young boy he had a EMT style first aid book highlighting what to do for medical event when out in the woods. He was reading it one day and exclaimed to his mother,"Cool! A chapter on 'Amputation in the Wild'," Responding to this Faye said quite seriously, "Ryan, I don't think you should plan on doing any amputations in the wild!!" To which Ryan calmly noted, "Mooommmm, it means if an amputation occurs in the wild by accident - how would you respond to that!!" "Oh, that's OK I guess that would be OK to do something about!!"

Here is the House of Flavors - with some neat benches outside.

The restaurant and the ice cream parlor are in the same building.  And I'm having this flavor ice cream tonight.

We traveled to Hamlin Lake for a walk around the area. Troop leader Jim shows us the way.

A comfortable place to pitch a hammock

Note that the legs of this bench stands in two feet of sand. It must have occurred a number years ago.

A normal bench
