Day 5 Michigan Road Trip: Ludington Michigan

Today was the "fish or cut bait" day. At 0530 the engines of Knights Kinship were fired and Captain Jim was ready for departure for the wilds of Lake Michigan.  Faye and I and Jim and Justine's sons Ian and Sean arrived to be the crew for our fishing adventure.

Jim was nervous as the seas, while not really rough, were higher than he wanted them in which to fish. Here is Faye, Ian and Sean.

Sean is helping Faye set lines

Ian is doing the same.

And now we wait. The most interesting thing was Faye and I were most fearful for Captain Jim. He really wanted us to catch some fish and I most wanted to get a fish so he wouldn't feel that he disappointed us.

But even the wait was fun with Admirals Faye and Justine asserting their quiet and steely determination upon the situation - the reason that have been promoted to their lofty positions.

"Now this is what a fish looks like - we should catch some, eh?"

And so in alignment with such well given orders, a fish was on for Faye to land ......................

...... and land it she did!!!!!!

Nice fish Admiral!!!!

It was not much longer and I was able to land and equally nice fish.

The entrance to Ludington Harbor

Which was bigger you ask?  It was a tie I would say.

After a time to relax and get re-hydrated, it was time for some pickleball. There are very nice courts at the high school. We had great fun even in the very mild temperatures.

After getting cleaned up, we headed to Ian's and Sean's campgrounds where they each have a very nice large trailer on a seasonal rented campsite. Here we got to meet the grandkids - here is Avery. I will get pictures of all four of them tomorrow, It was an amazing event to meet such sweet and happy children that Jim and Justine have talked so much about.

There are many friends and family at the campground. Jenny and Angie, Sean and Ian's wives, did a wonderful job of preparing a wonderful Paella.

Our gathering was a wonderful time.

Ian, Faye, me, and Sean and .....................

And Jim and I even tried and succeeded in taking a turn on the motorized scooters.

A great day of adventure, fun and family.

So Good Night and May God Bless
