We have not been much east of Boothbay this year. Following our trip to Michigan over July 4th, the lousy weather back here in Maine has conspired to keep us close to home.  We are planning to head east for the next three or so weeks. But the start of the trip is another rain delay as you can see.

We did enjoy a beautiful and fun day yesterday. It was son Ryan's birthday. I won't tell you how old he is but I went to see the FIRST Star Wars movie the week he was born. And as further evidence that time is marching on for both him and me, just look at how the candles quite nicely cover the top of the cake and the amount of smoke generated when they are blown out - Good job Ryan!

And it was great fun being with the grandkids - at least a good portion of them. Here are Mitchell, Lauren, and Charlotte

And our other son, Rob, was appropriately dressed in a Star Wars shirt.

How about a golf cart ride?  Sure says Charlotte, Gabrielle, and frogman Mitchell

Lauren used her beautiful long dancer limbs to get a good selfie. If you notice, Mitchell is in my lap - kids took turns driving - they did quite well!!

And the beautiful afternoon was spent on the lake of their campground on Ryan's new pontoon boat. The "water lily pad" was like having a portable beach. It was fun just watching the kids. The interesting part was that the adults would sink it unlike the kids who acted like bugs on the real lily pads.

And the youngest to oldest Charlotte, Bree, friend Michaela, and Lauren.

And Charlotte in the Captains seat - I can't even sit there!!

So as I noted above, our first day of our trip is spent at the dock - but there are certainly worse places to be.

So I will say ..............................

Good Night and May God Bless
