Day 8 & 9 July 27 & 28 Thursday & Friday Northeast Harbor

Thursday was a chore day. The chore was going to Bar Harbor for groceries at Hannaford's. The forecast was for rain starting early afternoon. Well at least the day started nicely with some well adored toasted bagels.

The common area of Northeast Harbor has a few folks playing tennis and ........

... there was a farmer's market.

The Explorer Bus is sponsored by LL Bean and this sign I can imagine is true. It is a wonderful way for us boaters - and others - to get around the island.

The village green is the bus stop in town.

We had hoped to have enough time for lunch in Bar Harbor but we arrived late morning and the forecast and the weather map showed the rains coming just after noon. So we did our shopping and headed back to the boat. And the rain did fill in just as we got settled on the boat. Good timing, eh?

Fortunately, the forecast for Friday was for a beautiful day. It started clearing on Thursday evening.

And Friday awakened with the hint of great promise. The light morning fog soon was dispelled

Today we decided to walk along Jordan Pond and then head into Bar Harbor for lunch. Here we are starting our trek with the Bubbles in full display.

I heard the kids say "This is the rock we always have our picture taken on." I had to take a picture of the picture taking. Nice to see a young family. It brought back great memories of our days of being parents of our young boys.

Looking across at Penobscot Mountain.

And here we are back at the beginning of our stroll.

And I found a kind fellow to snap a few photos of the intrepid hikers.

In Bar Harbor we ate at Jordan's restaurant - a very good home cookin' type of place. We then strolled the waterfront. Here we went to see the bar of Bar Harbor. It being near dead low tide it was in full view.

We walked along the harbor walk and once again soaked in the beauty of the scene. The islands in the background are called the porcupines - a good name don't you think?

Our walk finished with sighting of the balanced rock - it's there another year.

I was then back to the boat and time for laundry duties. Then back to the boat for some resting in the cooling evening air.  And the setting sun called for me the fly the drone.

It was a very pleasant day. So I say most sincerely,

Good Night and May God Bless
