Today was a beautiful day. We decided to travel to Somesville which is at the head of Somes sound. As you can see it is about a seven mile ride that is most pleasant.
The day was quite nice.
The wind was light to begin but increased during the afternoon. The
sea breeze created a great deal of fog that we could see over the south
end of the island. But we were far enough "inland" to have it remain
sunny and mild most of the afternoon.
It was very warm on land. There were
major thunderstorm warnings across New England. Watching the weather map
there were a lot of major storms including back home in Litchfield. It did finally cloud over.
I was hoping that the storms would stay to the west. We had reserved tickets for the Acadia Repertory Theatre this evening. We had to walk - not far as you can see - but far enough not to want to be in a thunderstorm.
Fortunately, the storms did stay to the west - not even a rain drop.
Somesville is beautiful little village with the landmark pedestrian bridge.
The play was three plays in one. Three actors each did a solo explanation of how they murdered irritating neighbors of the Riddle Key retirement community in Florida. Well done all.
You can see the map of the happy community.
The building is the Masonic Lodge and can seat 200 - not that many tonight but a good crowd.
And we found our way back to the boat in the dark - but dry night. So ........
Good Night and May God Bless
