2022 Cruise Day 2&3 Boothbay Harbor Saturday and Sunday July 9/10, 2022

Two more nice days.

The sun was shining on Saturday, we walked again to Spruce Point and by the time we got back - we said why move - we're retired!!! So we didn't.

So what is about the best thing to so in Boothbay Harbor? Get an ice cream!!

The chocolate lover's was really good.

Today, Sunday, dawned bright and the temperatures warmed nicely from the coolish evening temperatures.

We are off to Seal Cove, which is a wonderful anchorage a short ways up the Damariscotta River. The blue dot is our location.

On the ride we passed Ram Island light on the north end of Fisherman's Island.

And just past the lighthouse we turn to head up the Damariscotta River. It is a pretty ride.

Close to our destination the river narrows dramatically at Fort Point - think there was a fort here at one time? The tide was going out and with the river current the flow of water was impressive. I had to speed up just to get through it. I believe the current was around 5 knots!

And here is view just above Fort Point. Seal Cove is just ahead to the right.

And here we are anchored in our favorite spot. The first photos are taken near low tide.

Note how these photos near high tide are quite different since the "pond" has filled up again.

The sun is setting and we have had fine hamburgers from the grill along with Faye's potato salad.  Yum. And I have had my coffee, thus it is time to say ................

Good Night and May God Bless
