Always fun to head to BBH to end a trip. It is fun just to relax and know we have a short and pleasant ride to get back home.
The ride from Tenants Harbor was great. We left at 6:30 and the day had not dawn long before. The sunrises in Tenants are always beautiful and never cease to amaze me. Trust you will agree.
The wind stayed nil to light all the way to BBH. We were able to motor at a leisurely 7.8 knots and the floscan meters said we saved a lot of fuel - and it was just a great ride to boot. We took the outside route passing to the south of Allen and Burnt islands. Off the end of Allen Island is a nasty spot named Old Man Ledge. The buoy is just off it and I always wonder how many ships it has claimed over the years as it is the route many used to travel to the same places we had been.
The lighthouse is at Fisherman's Passage, which means we soon turn to the north and head for Boothbay.
At the outer harbor the Eastwind was just starting the daily sailing trips for the BBH vacationers.
And finally for those that are interested, this photo sums up my week in cribbage. I can't even win a cut with a 2. It has gotten so bad that ESPN will not even take my calls when I think I may have a chance of turning the tide. Well there is always the next trip
