Day 7 Holbrook Harbor
For those of you following closely you will see the same location in the title as yesterday. While the travelling group moved on to Bucks Harbor we decided to stay right where we were yesterday. A fine choice we think. A wonderful mild and sunny day with a strong breeze to keep us cool.

We had a most lazy morning of reading and general laziness until we ventured to nearby town of Castine by dinghy. The town is a spectacular display of old homes that more than once made me think "what a stunning place - sure would be nice to live here." Here are some photos of our nice walk around town
Even Post Office has historic building |
Next lesson maybe should focus on club selection |
We had a very nice lunch at the Wharf restaurant - what used to be called Dennetts (sp?) Wharf'.
The new owner seems to have liked half of the old name. Rose our waitress is a local who, bless her heart. teaches special education in the local high school. We talked raising teenage boys and had great stories for each other and provided comfort to her that there is the "other side" and we made it and our kids still like us for some strange reason.
Fog is rolling in for tonight and we hope it goes away when the wind calms down for the evening. We are planning on going to Northeast Harbor so we hope to be able to move early.
Our Current Trip
Yeah, your kids think you're ok. Just Kidding!! You're the best! Hope you are having a great time!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are having a wonderful trip
DeleteWe did tell Rose about you feeding steak to all your friends and then needing to eat Mac and Cheese for a week. She laughed.
There is a sailboat next to us with family of three boys - reminded me of our family sailing adventures.
