Today was a nice ride. It began with passing Decatur that has much industry along its shore and no boater friendly place to stop. But I was impressed with one claim to fame as seen below.
After Decatur the river became bucolic for a long way and all the way to our stop.
North of the river in this area is the City of Huntsville. It's claim to fame is home of the Redstone Rocket development center and the Marshall Space Flight Center
From the cruising guide, the building in the distance is one of the old rocket test centers.
Some nice scenery from the river. The clouds in the distance are from Florence - the remains of the storm is supposed to turn north and leave us with the nice high pressure we have been enjoying.
Approaching the Marina
Entrance to the marina
Once tied up we needed to stretch our legs and walked the green-way along the river.
The marina is a busy place as it is near the city and it was the source of the increasing activity on the river as we approached the marina. But there is not much to walk to so we had a nice dinner on the boat and watched the incredible Green Bay comeback over the Bears (week 1- we just finished watching all of last week's games).
The clouds provided a nice opportunity for some fun photos.
And you can see that the sun has set so it is time to say ................
Good Night and May God Bless
