August 1 Friday Turkey Cove to Greenland Cove

Whoa - The first of August. Seems the summer is flying by. But with the lousy May and June and little time away from the dock as a result, then I guess it makes sense why it feels this way.

But the thoughts of  lousy weather in May and June are cast aside when I savor the beautiful day that has arisen.

Our journey today is again a short and wonderful ride. This time though the islands of Muscongus Bay. Our destination today is Greenland Cove.

Our route takes us out and around Morse Island which takes up to the Town of Friendship.

Here we are approaching Friendship. Ironically the town waterfront is nearly exclusively dedicated to lobster boats. It is thus not very friendly toward pleasure boaters. But in defense of their industrial focus, I will say that we got big waves from all the lobster boats we passed in the area - so I will suggest that they retain the name of their town.

Passing Hog Island - an Audubon Facility. It has an active summer camp program where folks can come an stay on the Island for a time - but that seems there are no programs this week.

Greenland Cove and Chickadee III.

Once again the evening has given way to the forces of night.

So........

Good Night and May God Bless
