August 10 2025 Long Cove Vinalhaven to Buckle Harbor - Swans Island

Another glorious day.  The temperatures are mild and the breeze over the ocean added a cooling feel.

We  traveled about 26 miles from Long Cove Vinalhaven to Buckle Island off Swans island. 

Here were are leaving Long Cove

Browns Head light at entrance to Fox Island Thorofare. Interestingly I have never found Fox Island.

Notice the Flag on the Sugar Loaves opposite Browns Head Light

North Haven is the town on the north side of the thorofare

Goose Rock lighthouse at east end of the Fox Island Thorofare.

I would not want to be stationed here for very long. 

Mark Island at entrance to Merchant Row - the thorofare at the south end of Deer Isle. 

Another flag a flying on the small island.

Stonington - A major lobster town.

Now seeing mountains of Mount Desert

No that is not Alice - if you are Wonderlanding. But she is cute like Alice

But this is the Cheshire Cat - a cool dude.

This point is the location of a home of which all that remains is a stone foundation and ..............

 And later it was time to fly the drone.  A dramatically different look at low tide.

 Steak on the barbie was very tasty.
