The forecast was for winds shifting to the north over night and with wind gusts over 20 knots. During the day there had been one sail boat that was behind us in the southerly wind that dragged into another boat. I didn't feel like taking a chance on bumper boats so we decided to go back to Northeast as the forecast for the day was fog in areas. We have become adverse to running in fog. As we don't have the schedule restraints that we used to - why fight the tide - so to speak.
As you can see the day was, at least on the water, not shaping up to be the best. We did get a space in Northeast fortunately as there many others had the same idea that it was a good place to be with the forecast.
We decided to get our second trip to Jordan Pond in for the year. No we cheated and took the bus as it was already near noon when we arrived.
"OK, what am I looking at?" you say. That is the aluminum cups that they were serving drinks in. They are actually rather nice with the Acadia logo. And we brought them back to the boat.
You can see that on land the day is rather nice. Good decision I'd say. I later talked with some boaters who traveled today and their story of dense fog and not much fun affirmed that we made the correct choice.
The view looking the other way.
The Explorer Bus took us back into Bar Harbor.
I even looked at hiking shoes in Cadillac Mountain Sports. This store is where we first bought hiking shoes in 2007 after having done the Great Neck Trail near Sand Beach. It was the beginning of our hiking days.
And a good place to be for the night. So .............
Good Night and May God Bless
