Day 136 Pisgah Mountain Tuesday October 2, 2018

Day 136 Pisgah Mountain Tuesday October 2, 2018

The sky had a few clouds to start and they cleared in the morning but sneaked back in during the afternoon.  Temperatures were low 60s to high 70s.

Today was wonderful!! The location of Pisgah Inn is a top the Blue Ridge Parkway near the south end of the 462 miles of this incredible roadway. As you can see below, the view that greeted us and morphed before our eyes all day was wonderful. These are taken from our balcony.

A wonderful breakfast is included with the room rate. The restaurant, as you can see from below, has the same commanding view.

The day changed nicely into clear skies - time for a hike.

We chose the Frying Pan Trail. And no - we don't know the reason for the name of the trail. We could start right from the hotel. There is a campground about 500 feet from the hotel entrance - that is the start of the trail that the Admiral is modeling for us.

The hike was a combination of trail for about a mile and a half in the woods, and a access road for about the same distance to the fire tower at the top of the mountain.  The photos below are from the fire tower.

This shot is along the trail which is mostly in the woods.

We arrived back in early afternoon and decided to just relax on our balcony.

The clouds came back in the afternoon and presented us with an ever changing view. It reminded us of being on our boat in Maine and watching the tide change the view during the day.

And the slider got stuck and we had to have the maintenance man come and open it for us.

We had another fine meal in the restaurant. Tyler was our waiter. He and girlfriend Jordan, are planning a three month trip to South America starting in early January. Was fun talking about the trip and blogs and videos.

And some shots from after dinner with the sun now to the right of us as we are facing south.

So we wish you all a pleasant evening and hope you can find some equally spectacular chances to view the world around us. We feel truly thankful to be doing so on this trip.

So it is again time to say .....................

Good Night and May God Bless
