Day 145 Florence Marina to Aqua Yacht Marina Luka, MS October 11, 2018

Clouds of yesterday were gone and so was the warm temperatures. Wind was 15 knots and temps were a high of 68.

The clouds of yesterday were blown east from the breeze that came up with the cooler temperatures. The sun was bright in the cool and clear air, but it lacked the warming strength our recent days. But it was a nice change. However I will admit that we were chilled on the flybridge when we turned head to the wind for the last 15 miles of our trip today. The high of 68 was just being reached and it felt more like a 55 degree day in Maine. We looked at each other and said "What is this - has the South thinned out out blood already?"

But it was an enjoyable and scenic ride. Much of the lake was tree lined that presented a wonderful back drop to the blue and white cloud filled sky.  Here are a few shots.

And as I mentioned the wind was up and on the nose for the latter part of the 40 or so miles to today's trip.

And the sun was just right to create a rainbow in the spray from the waves. The series of photos below is captured from video that I took - you can even see the results of the spray covering the camera lens in the last shoot.

We arrived at Aqua Yacht Marina in early afternoon. We will stay here for several days to relax and do boat maintenance. There are several Loopers here who were good to see again or meet for the first time.  We all discussed the destruction of Hurricane Michael to the Florida Panhandle. We are concerned and saddened for the loss that so many experienced - and we have to wonder how that will affect our travel through that area in the not too distant future. But I am sure the collective Looper information chain will highlight what is the best solution to the path to Florida.

So with night firmly in charge it is time to say....................

Good Night and May God Bless
