Day 141 Nickajack Dam Anchorage to Guntersville Anchorage Sunday October 7, 2018

A beautiful day start to finish.  Temperatures were mid 60s to upper 80s.

It was a beautiful day so we decided to travel about 75 miles instead of stopping at Goose Pond Marina. And I was happy to do that since the entrance to the marina has many weeds - which I was not looking forward to navigating through.

A few high clouds made a nice scene as we departed the anchorage

Nickajack (name is supposedly englishized version of Indian name for the area) Dam is just down river from us. It is ready for us and we are able to drive in for our lock down.

And here we are ready to depart the lock.

It was a beautiful day for a ride. Guntersville Lake has some nice small mountains ranges along the edges.

This is about 5 miles upriver from Guntersville

Near Guntersville there were a number of sailboats and they were actually sailing.  And this boat is a Pearson 26. This was our second sailboat after our Tanzer 22. When we got that boat we thought we had all the boat anyone could want since you could actually stand up inside - if only in one place.

We anchored just beyond the cliffs behind an island

A nice travel day.

Dinner was good and gave us time for a nice evening for more football.

And we  passed back from the eastern to the central time zone - so it is dark now at 7:00.

So it is time to say ..........

Good Night and God Bless
