Day 161 Fairhope Marina 2nd day Saturday October 27, 2018

The west wind of yesterday morning brought clearing and a nice bright day in the lower 70s

Today was one of the days that those who live here have been waiting for throughout the hot summer. Golfers were out in abundance, walkers were walking and not wilting, and kids were getting treats on Main Street Fairhope at the businesses and not being getting tricked with exhaustion - a wonderful day.

We stayed at Mike and Paula's house overnight. Instead of my normal half a bagel we were treated ("trick or treat!!" always like the latter) to a wonderful breakfast that carried us nicely through the morning.

After our filling morning repast, Mike and I drove to the boat to check on it and to see how Jim and Justine, and of course Rocky, were doing. The two boats was there but alas, Jim and Justine were out riding their bikes. I did hear from Jim that the roll of yesterday when we came in to the marina remained far into the night and made for an "at sea-like" sleeping experience.  They plan to move on down the Panhandle on Sunday. We hope to meet up with them again in 10 days or so.

We toured the marina a little more than I did yesterday. It is a nice location and the City of Fairhope that owns it is putting money into it to make it a place that is in line with the rest of this very fine community.

And it is home to some working boats as well

The remainder of the day was spent relaxing at Mike and Paula's and watching the Georgia "Dawgs" defeat the Florida "Gators" - a true case of their bite was worse than their bark.

The evening was very fun as we were able to join them at a costume party that their realtor for their house had at her new home - it was great fun. I will have photos of our outfits tomorrow. As we watched the sun set over Mobile Bay at the party - it is now definitely time to say ........

Good Night and May God Bless
