Day 12 August 2019 Cruise Northeast Harbor 2nd day Saturday August 24, 2019

The night was again cool but clear air. The sun was out to start and around most of the day.  The wind was light all day.  Temperatures in the upper 60s

Friends Jim and Justine arrived this morning to start our time together here on Mount Dessert Island. As readers of the blog will recall we shared some wonderful times with them while doing the Great Loop. They had spent time here many years ago and arranged to come back again to visit and we were so glad we could coordinate the trip to be able to be here with our boat.

The plan for today was to have a nice boat ride and then return for a nice dinner in Bar Harbor. The weather cooperated wonderfully.

Our visit began with presentation of wonderful PERELANDRA shirts that was made by daughter-in-law, Jenny.

The girls wasted no time catching up .......

and reconnecting.

Jim brought me an added bonus of a safety shirt that should be worn by all boaters - very good emergency instructions.

Our boat ride was out around Sutton Island and by Southwest Harbor and then up Somes Sound ........

...... to Somesville. We had lunch on board and then returned to Northeast Harbor.

We had time in the afternoon to play our first game of Mexican Train. All I will say is that it was close.

We then headed into Bar Harbor. Before dinner we strolled along the shore walk that is a wonderful public access area that was in fine view this evening.

It provided a great backdrop for some photo ops.

Some passing young ladies were kind enough to snap a great photo of all four of us.

We ate at the Reading Room that is in the Bar Harbor Inn. I took the photo below that is on the Terrace that is outside the inside dining room.  It was a very nice view to enjoy a very fine dinner.

It was dark when we were returned by Jim and Justine to NEH. A fine day indeed and thus it is time to say ..............

Good Night and May God Bless
