Day 7 August 2019 Cruise Perrys Creek to Somesville Monday August 19, 2019

Day 7 August 2019 Cruise Perrys Creek to Somesville Monday August 19, 2019

The night was again cool with fog that ruled of the day until well into Somes Sound. Fog fortunately wasn't too thick. The sun did make an appearance in the afternoon. The wind was light all day.  Temperatures in the mid 60s

One thing about Maine is the poor cell coverage - We had much better coverage on 99% of the Loop - even in nowhere in Georgian Bay Canada!!

So I have not been able to post daily - will try to catch up.

The fog came in over night to Perry's Creek. We waited for it to scale up some and then departed. Below several shots of the anchorage as yesterday - but you can see the weather has changed considerably

Here is a neat old house on the Fox Island Thorofare.

Goose Rock Lighthouse

We have reached Stonington - but you would be hard pressed to prove there is a town around.

And interesting enough this is a derrick on Crotch Island of Stonington. They are still quarrying granite here - but in limited amounts.

See the town?

The town is behind this anchored windjammer.

Crossing Blue Hill bay and approaching Bass Harbor Light ...............

 .....that is below

We are entering Somes Sound

It is beautiful even in the fog.

Local yacht club races

And Rebecca is one huge sailboat

Yes the sun is out! Here we are at the head of Somes Sound and headed into Somesville Harbor

And the evening view from our anchorage.

So it must be time to say...............

Good Night and May God Bless
