Day 318 Palm City to St Augustine Tuesday April 2, 2019

Day 318 Palm City to St Augustine Tuesday April 2, 2019

The night was chilly but nice for sleeping.  The sun was again smothered by the clouds.  Temperatures from 57 to the high 60s and rain all day until the later part of the afternoon.

Today was a 28 mile run to St Augustine. But the rain made it a grey day and the temperatures and breeze in out face made it cool on the water. We kept all the windows of the flybridge closed and we drove nicely from the flybridge. It was much, much warmer.

The landscape again ranged from natural landscape to condo city. It was a nice ride.

We arrived in St Augustine around 12:30. We made it nicely into our slip. There is a strong cross current and there is a lot of bumper car type activity most ever day.

The marina is right adjacent to the town center.

There is some real history here. Trintiy Parish Church is a very visible.

The Lightner museum is a great place. We toured in during a trip about 7-9 years ago. We plan to do it again tomorrow,

Some scenes from around the center of the town and the tourist attractions.

This is the start of St George Street ........

... it is now a pedestrian walkway with all the shops and restaurants that you would expect to find in a tourist town.

The old city gates at the other end of St Georges street.

And the fort across the street on the water. We will tour that tomorrow.

The waterfront

And along the water side street.

The Lions Bridge is just north of the marina. Any quess how the bridge got its name?

We had a great dinner at Harry's - creative name - with the crew from Eagle One and Knights Kingdom. I forgot my phone in the charger - so I will have photos tomorrow.

As we are back at the boat and ready for a good nights sleep, I will say..........

Good Night and May God Bless
