The night was cool and nice for sleeping. There were clouds as we got underway. A hazy sun was around most of the day and thunderstorms passed to the south of us. Temperatures a pleasant mid 70s

Today we made 66 miles. We had planned to go about another 10 miles but the threat of thunderstorms led us to stop short by about 10 miles.
The day started out calm with hazy sunshine. We left Jekyll Island about 0700. As you can see there were more clouds than sun. There was forecast of possible thunderstorms later in the day. Here is the view from our anchorage.
The north end of Jekyll Island
This is looking NW to Brunswick, GA
And this is the I95 bridge in Brunswick - bet they get home faster than we do - but the scenery is not anywhere as nice.
The day was spent in lowland country - it was really beautiful.
Many Looper boats at Jekyll last night as you recall from the gathering photo from yesterday. Eagle One is ahead of us and going slightly faster - but much slower than normal.
The waterway is like the rivers on the Tenn Tom - full of twists and turns as you can see.
In some places there are islands - but they are few and far between for the most part. And while there many people living on them in years past, there are none today.
I thought the grass in this area looked mowed - but then saw the herd of cows and sheep.
On a few places there are private homes or camps with docks. At this one the pelicans have made it home - or at least the local pub - "Fresh sushi tonight boys!" Extra points to anyone who knows where that quote comes from.
And there was this rather nice home next door - but I am not sure how much use it gets.
Here is a shrimp boat that at first looks aground .........
But nope! He's headed home - hopefully with plenty of peel and eat shrimp for Eagle One's Captain Rick - and me too!
I was amazed at the wonderful condition of this boat - it looked brand new!! Trust it is just pride of ownership.
And the threat of thunderstorms convinced us to stop about 10 miles shy of our expected anchorage. But Walburg creek was a great spot. The east side of the creek is St. Catherines Island.
It is closed to the public and reading the description of its mission of providing care and breeding for endangered animals, it seems a little like a Jurassic Park on the outer banks.
The large number of on island vehicles and the islands boats can be seen in the background. We also had three other boats in the anchorage with us.
Dinner was a nice home cooked meal.
And the day is ending with rumbles of thunder to our south over Jekyll Island - yesterday's stop.
And it is now time to play Mexican Train for two.
So I will say .............
Good Night and May God Bless
